providing support and guidance, while mentoring clients who have been released from prison or jail, some with severe and persistent mental illness in a community setting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Job Type: Full Time<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Pay: $27<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Work Location: Stockton, CA<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li5\">Assists individuals with developing their individual service plans.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Shares personal recovery stories and describes personal experiences to inspire and support individuals throughout the recovery process, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Assists individuals with the development of mental health advanced preferences.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Supports individuals with problem solving related to their reintegration into the community.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Advises and informs individuals on community resources, including housing, employment, education, transportation, recreation, health, religious\/spiritual, and other resources to meet their individual recovery goals.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Provides individuals with support and guidance recognizing the early signs of crisis, developing crisis plans, and implementing identified coping strategies.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Assists individuals with developing and maintaining positive personal and social support networks.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Assists individuals with developing their self-help skills and cultivates their ability to make informed, independent choices.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Plans and facilitates practical activities for individuals to increase their self-worth and improve their self-concepts.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li6\">Assists in facilitating skills-based groups.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Attends treatment\/recovery team meetings.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Documents services provided to individuals\/groups.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\">Acts as an advocate for individuals to facilitate positive changes in their recovery.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\">Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Judiciary, District Attorneys, Public Defenders, Parole Agents, DSH staff, and local law enforcement officials as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><br><\/p><p class=\"p2\">QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li8\">Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) or Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist (CMPSS) certification required<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Experience working in a psychiatric hospital, behavioral health, correctional facility, or a community behavioral health center preferred.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Strong understanding of the challenges faced by people reentering society after incarceration<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Knowledge of mental health peer support services required.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Ability to interact with varied levels of managerial, clinical, court, and administrative staff in housing and community<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Ability to pay attention to detail<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">One (1) year experience in mental health<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Experience working in the adult residential care industry is preferred.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in an often-ambiguous environment.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">MS Office Suite proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\">Proven track record with maintaining strict confidentiality and appropriately work with sensitive information\/documents.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Act as a team member providing input and reporting observations and concerns regarding client care.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li4\">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li10\">PPD test for tuberculosis and satisfactory results.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li10\">Valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li10\">CPR\/First Aid\/BLS certification.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li11\">Authorized to work in the U.S.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p4\"><br><\/p><p class=\"p4\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li12\">Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and\/or carry up to 25 pounds.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li12\">Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li12\">Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as needed.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li12\">Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and
