Residential Counselor (Merced)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Residential Counselor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing supervision to adult residents with severe and persistent mental illness. The Residential Counselor also provides services including but not limited to client supervision, transporting residents on outings, cleaning, cooking, crisis intervention, and mediation management.

Job Type: Part Time Pay: $21

Work Location: Merced, CA

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client supervision at assigned
  • Supports and assist individuals in developing independent living skills and meeting rehabilitation
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and emotional
  • Transporting residents on
  • Cleaning and cooking at assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1 year of mental health
  • At least 1 year of experience with working with incarcerated
  • High School Diploma or
  • Experience working in the adult residential care industry
  • Knowledge of psychiatric illness and
  • Ability to work independently and be self-
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and
  • Ability to flex work hours as
  • Willing to work some weekends and overnight
  • Possess strong interpersonal leadership, analytic, and problem-solving
  • Valid driver’s
  • CPR/First Aid/BLS certification

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry up to 25
  • Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a
  • Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as
  • Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual
  • Ability to work in an office
