POSITION SUMMARY: The Mental Health Clinician will provide weekly (or as clinically necessary) individual and/or group therapy to clients, focusing on addressing their mental health challenges, trauma, substance use issues, and developing coping mechanisms to successfully transition back into community life, supporting their overall reintegration process. The clinicians will also be completing comprehensive assessments as well as individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of their clients. The assessment process will consist of gathering information from clients and collateral sources to formulate a plan for treatment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide therapeutic services to clients on caseload minimal 1x weekly and additional sessions as needed based on clinical assessment of clients’ need.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on Department of healthcare standards, clinical experience, and knowledge.
  • Facilitate weekly Group Therapy sessions with assigned facility.
  • Complete comprehensive Initial/Update Assessments and Treatment Plans.
  • Complete progress notes for all assigned clients based on individual sessions, group sessions, crisis intervention, as well as any interaction warranting clinical intervention.
  • Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
  • Maintains appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Participates in internal and external organization meetings and training as directed by their supervisor and/or CEO.
  • Maintains an awareness of applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements as they relate to client documentation; Mandate reporting when applicable to APS/PD
  • Assumes accountability for providing appropriate documentation of all therapy/counseling sessions, significant incident occurrences, phone conversations, etc. consistent with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of client records with assurance that all needed releases of information and other paperwork are present in the file and up to date. Promptly requests new or additional information and paperwork.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • PPD test for tuberculosis and satisfactory results.
  • FBI and DOJ criminal background clearances.
  • Free from state sanctions.
  • CPR/First Aid/BLS certification.
  • Master’s degree
  • Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an AMFT and/or ACSW.
  • Minimal 1-5+ years’ experience providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood.
  • Maintain professional licensure and/or registration throughout employment with GLOM.
  • Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment.
  • Act as a team member providing input and reporting observations and concerns regarding client care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act as part of a team in an appropriate manner in a crisis.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, in an often-ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients’ treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.
  • Ability to walk with items in hand, grasp and reach as needed.
  • Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
